January Blues

Hello beautiful people!

January can sometimes leave us feeling a little run down, we get back to the real world and we get into that same schedule every day. Anyone else feel like January was a trial month? I definitely feel like it was and I want to plan more exciting content for my blog for the upcoming months. The weather isn't looking great either, those long, bleak days and summer seem forever away but I thought I would update you all on my current favourite outfit also the outfit I never take off…

I always say invest in a good coat because it'll last you a few years and this coat ticked all the boxes for me. It has to make a statement, a staple piece which usually inspires an outfit, and the rest always just falls into place. As you guys may have noticed tailored, longline jackets are in right now.  I saw this online whilst browsing through Miss Selfridge, I couldn't resist adding this steal to my basket.

It’s literally the perfect one for me, the colour, the cut, and the length. This coat also didn't have a hefty price tag either and is a  great high street alternative to the tailored designer coats I have seen online. The grey compliments the khaki knit sweater and the fit of the coat makes the whole outfit well put together but still keeps you nice and warm.

I’ve been pairing it with my New Look high-waisted black jeans (also obsessed), a cable knit jumper (this one’s from ISAWITFIRST) and any one of my black boots (yes, I own more than a few pairs – oops!), these ones being from New Look (heeled, yet comfortable). This jumper is in a cropped style and I love the roll neck which keeps you warm without compromising style.

I treated myself to a dainty PANDORA ring that I haven't taken off since I bought it. It is so elegant and dainty that I literally wear it with any and every outfit, just to add a little something!

So basically, I’ll be wearing this outfit on repeat for the rest of the season, as its such an easy throw-on outfit for them gloomy days… maybe add a good old odd bobble hat or scarf on for those extra chilly days.

So that's it for today folks! I will be back with more content.
Stay tuned,

Davina

OOTD: The Official Colour of Fall

Hi guys! Autumn is officially here which means it's time to embrace the more cool weather by stocking up on knitwear and feeling super cosy. What way to start the season than buying cute autumn clothing pieces to update my wardrobe (any excuse to shop). Boohoo has been killing the fashion game recently (as you may know from my previous posts) and I'm obsesseddd with this outfit which is an autumn staple outfit.

P.S- Don't forget to look out for my Autumn Clothing Haul which will be coming soon to my YouTube channel...

Nothing screams Autumn than this burgundy knit jumper dress from Boohoo which I have completely fallen in love with! The roll-neck jumper keeps me extra warm as well as the dress being a perfect length (not too long or short). It is perfect for the colder seasons and is super comfortable which is perfect for me to throw on but still look effortless and chic. This dress is a staple for anyone's autumn wardrobe!

These knee high boots were so dreamy and I was so happy to find them on the website. I was impressed with the high quality suede material and shows that you don't need to spend an ludicrous amount on nice boots. The lace up detail adds a feminine touch and this means that you can loosen or tighten the boots to get the perfect fit. The heel was comfortable to walk around in without feeling like I need to taken them off after five minutes (which I have experience with other boots). These knee high boots are definitely a wardrobe staple for the colder months and can only be used as a transition piece into a night look.
I hope you enjoyed reading this post as well as letting me know what staples do you guys have in your autumn wardrobe? x

Summer Blues

Hello everyone! Hope you all are having a great week. As summer is coming to an end (trying to hold back the tears) I decided to wear this gorgeous jumpsuit that I found when browsing online at Boohoo. When I saw this online, I knew immediately how I was going to style this and I've been into pale pink (not helping beating the blues) this summer.

I hope you guys enjoy the last summer post of 2017 which I am sad to see the end of and join me in beating the summer blues...

This jumpsuit just screams sophistication and I wore this out when I went for dinner at Berners Tavern in London. Something that I love about this outfit, is that you can either dress it down by throwing on a denim jacket and a pair of converses or glam it up like I did. The cut on the jumpsuit is just below the knee, which to be honest I wasn't sure how it would work but I loved how it allowed the shoes to have their own moment since jumpsuits normally cover up the shoes. I loved the strappy halter-neck with the straps on the shoulder which were a bit annoying as one of them kept falling off. If I had to be picky, the fit of the jumpsuit was perfect apart from the straps.

I decided to pair this outfit with a few dainty accessories that I have collected over the year. The rings are from accessorize and the bracelet was a gift.I wore my favourite pink pointed heels which I won't go on about but I bought them a while back from H&M which was featured on my last blog post. To finish the look off, I chose this simple clutch which complimented the whole outfit perfectly (yes, pink again) and carried my lipstick and personal items perfectly. This whole outfit captures my girly style perfectly however this is probably the final time I wear an all-pink outfit.

As much as I'm going to miss this summer I am looking forward to the seasonal colours of Autumn (bring on my favourite month) where I will be showing you guys how you can still wear your favourite outfits but keep warm by layering. Hate to say this but so long summer, oh how you'll be missed till next year! x

OOTD: The Ruffle Trend Continues

Hi lovelies, welcome back. If you have read my last post on the ruffle trend then you'll be pleased to see more of that ruffle trend (my latest style obsession) in this post which I hope you enjoy....

Autumn is getting closer and I wanted to wear this outfit one last time (I had to share it on the blog) before the cold hits us. Let me know what you guys think of this look and the twist on the typical white shirt dress.

The white shirt dress look has been seen styled by plenty of bloggers however when I saw that this shirt had ruffled sleeves, I knew I had to get my hands on it! To be honest, I never thought I could pull of the white shirt dress  but I love how the ruffle detail made the dress not look so formal ( no collar) and 'dressed down' but still looking chic! I've never been one to dress to make a statement but its minimal look made it easy to pull off. This dress is from Boohoo priced at only £12.00 (CRAZY right?) and the material is surprisingly nice and did not feel cheap AT ALL with the ruffles maintaining their shape. I'm someone who appreciates quality over how much it is and this certainly delivers more than its price which makes it more amazing. I love the contrast between the structured body of the dress and the free flowing ruffle sleeves which works so well.

I decided to add a western style buckle belt from River Island to slightly cinch in at the waist to add some shape to my figure. I love how this buckle pairs perfectly with the dress and adds as an accessory without having to wear heavy jewellery. This belt is so easy to wear and adds an effortless look to the entire outfit.

I finished the whole look with these black suede Chelsea boots from H&M (a few years ago) which are timeless and can be worn in any season. These boots are slim and elegant and add sophistication to the entire outfit while being amazingly comfortable to walk around in London.

I hope you guys have been inspired by this casual yet stylish look which I've been wearing non-stop and I love how comfortable it is which makes me feel sooo confident! I love this monochrome outfit and I hope you guys try experimenting with this trend. As always please comment below any outfit pieces I would love! x

OOTD: Ruffle Trousers

The sun is out in London for Bank Holiday weekend and what perfect weather for wearing these ruffle trousers which I freaakinggg adore! The ruffle trend has been seen on the catwalk for Spring/ Summer '17 and I am a big fan of this fashion trend. These trousers have a feminine touch as well as being on trend for this season. These trousers are perfect for transitioning from Summer into Autumn as they cover up your legs but still keep you cool with its lightweight material. This can be paired with a sleeveless cami for warmer days or a high-neck tight fitted knit for colder months ahead. At first I was unsure with how the trousers would fit around my hips but I was pleasantly surprised with how nicely they sat on my hips without highlighting any bulges after eating (ladies you know what I talking about) which I'm sure everyone is conscious about. I never usually like wearing trousers but these gorgeous tailored trousers have made me expand my style horizons without it being office-y or boring with the added ruffle...

P.S- Head over to my instagram to see where I shot this look which matches my outfit! ðŸ’—💗
I paired the trousers with a white cropped top from River Island (I'll link similar ones below) which  revealed enough of my upper midriff for me to still feel comfortable in and not feel super conscious. The cut of the top was flattering as well as keeping it simple to show off the detail of the trousers. I kept the jewellery very simple too, as the ruffle detail on the pockets and hem of the trousers act as an accessory already (bonus) and makes the outfit more casual for the daytime.

Also these trousers are cropped which means they are perrrfectt for showing off these classy pink heels. I got these shoes a few years ago from H&M which means I can't find the exact pair but I will link similar items below. These shoes are the epitome of class and being feminine (my two favourite words) without them being too office-y for my liking. The heel is not too high which means they were comfy enough to walk through the streets of London. The soft suede material, pointed toe and the heel brings sophistication to the whole outfit and ahhh I just obsessed with this whole look!

I hope you guys have enjoyed reading this blog. Please leave me comments on what you want to see on this blog as well as any other items which you think I may love!  x

Gloomy Days...

It's May and there's no sign of the sun staying here for good (typical British weather) and I'm still dressing in black...and white to brighten my mood. This monochrome outfit definitely reflects my mood with the weather with sunny spells but mostly cold and gloomy. This is one of my favourite outfits at the moment as it looks well put together but still casual. The choker trend is everywhere and I'm obsessed with how this casual black tee is upgraded by the choker- who needs to accessorise?

I paired this with some white jeans which can be risky but I thought I'd mix up the norm instead of wearing white tee and black jeans. A leather jacket is a timeless piece to have in your closet and this one is my favourite jacket to wear for mild weather. I'll definitely be wearing this outfit repeatedly... the perfect look to wear for a casual date too!

OOTD: Collar Signs

This outfit was inspired by the trend of pink and red which was seen during London Fashion Week which honestly I was not expecting to see down the runway. Although both colours clash, I was pleasantly surprised at how the colours worked together and how the outfit made a statement with the small details (in love with the collar!) This outfit is definitely classy chic and is something you can wear during the day. Never in a million years would I have thought that pink and red would work together but if you're not feeling too brave you could always add a pop of colour (a red handbag or even a classic red lipstick) to a pink outfit.
I absolutely adore this  lace collared top which I purchased from Oasis (now on sale!) and I love the contrast between the burgundy and light pink and the detailed work. This top is definitely something you can transition into your work-wear by pairing it with a black skirt or skinny-cigarette style trousers. This midi-skirt is from Boohoo which I got in nude but it looked more light pink in real life. The A-line skirt fits nicely and wasn't too flowy which I liked as still showed off my figure. I nearly went for pink heels but then I thought I was going overboard with the pink so I decided on these strappy black heels from New Look which are my all time favourite shoes!

OOTD: Stripes & Denim

Hello everyone! So the weather is still chilly and not even close to getting warm (bit too hopeful living in the UK...)

Wearing sleeveless tops can be hard especially in winter months so I love this Striped Cold Shoulder Shirt from Topshop which has the cut-out shoulder detail while still being full-sleeved. I love having basics in my wardrobe and this shirt is more dressy than your typical striped shirt. Since I was going out for a lunch date, I thought this top would go perfect with a pair of  black jeans (again from Topshop). I just think you can't go wrong with a pair of black skinny jeans and they go nicely with boots. Again the buckled 'western style' belt adds an oomph to just plain black jeans and makes the outfit more dressed up and looks like you actually made an effort! I went for plain black boots since I wanted the outfit to do the talking and I am slightly in love with the pointed shape of the boot. The statement necklace is an absolutely stunning piece which I think ties the whole look together with simple silver rings (the turquoise-stoned ring is from a small boutique called Spangle which is now shut down.)

I hope you guys get some inspiration from this outfit and if I can't find the exact items then I will link similar items below:

There are a lot of options for western style belts on ASOS! You can even try styling this Western style belt in gold from River Island.

Winter Nail Polishes

Winter polishes I’m loving!
  1. Barry M Gelly High Shine nail paint in Black Cherry (£3.99) : I love how long lasting this nail polish is! The Gelly High Shine collection by Barry M in general is  just amazing and this deep berry colour is right on trend at the moment (the price point for such a high-quality product is why I love this product as well!!)
  2. Essie Nail Lacquer in Aruba Blue (£7.99) : This product is more on the pricey side but it's such  unique colour! It's great for parties and it just adds that pop of colour to your outfit! Definitely worth the investment.
  3. Essie Luxe Effects in Fashion Flares (£7.99) : Again this is a bit more pricey yet worth your pennies! It's one of Essie's high embellished top coat collection which means that you can add this shade on top of any colour if you want to add a bit of sparkle and va-va-voom to your look! I love to add this with the Barry M Gelly High Shine nail paint in Black Cherry (you can use any dark red/cherry/purple colour) just on the ring fingers to take your nails to the next level!
  4. L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Nails in Divine Indigo (£4.99): This is a rich purple colour which I guarantee will get you a lot of compliments! I am a massive fan of L'Oreal and I love the applicator on this nail polish. It gives a great shine and has a built-in top coat which is perfect for people on the go like me!
  5. Models Own in Chrome Rose (£4.99) : This is a nice rose gold nail polish that you can wear on its own or on the ring finger paired with a nude nail colour. It adds a subtle pop to your look and has a liquid metal chrome effect.
  6. Zoya nail polish in Alicia (£11.75) : This colour is a definite staple as it's a shimmery silver colour that again can be paired with any other nail polish do add that dazzle!
  7. H&M beauty nail polish in Bordeaux (£3.99) : This is a lovely deep wine/cherry colour that is a staple for the winter season and right on trend! I was really surprised by the high quality of H&M nail polishes as they have great colour pay-off and you only need 2 coats to get a rich colour! It is also long-lasting so for just £3.99, you just can't go wrong!
  8. TOPSHOP nails in Rage (£5.00) : I really love the nail polishes by TOPSHOP, they are a great quality and they have a wide range of colours! This colour in particular is bold and festive.
  9. Zoya nail polish in Indigo (£11.75) : I mean this nail polish is just a dream! It is a perfect shade of midnight blue with specks of silver glitter. It is a really festive colour that will make your nails do all the talking all night long! You can jazz up a LBD or a pair of jeans with this colour. It is on the pricey side but it is a unique colour and also super pigmented that I promise that you will be blown away by!

NYE

Hello everyone! This is my first  ever blog post on the outfit that I wore on New Year's Eve. I still can't get over the fact that we are officially in 2017 and how fast 2016 has flown by! NYE was pretty chill as we just had a family party so I wanted something quite sparkly yet still an easy-to-wear and sophisticated outfit.

I found this sequin top from a website called MISSGUIDED (which I think most of you reading this would have already known about) which I totally fell in love with! I didn't know you could fall in love with a crop top, yet I did! I mean it is a pink embellished crop top, who wouldn't fall in love, right?

With the top in mind I knew that I wanted it to be the centre piece of my look and that I had to work around it. With this in mind, I then went on a hunt to find a midi skirt. I had seen quite a few other bloggers wear pleated midi skirts which I wanted to try out for myself.  I came across this rose gold metallic pleated skirt which I thought would really compliment the top (I think I have fallen in love with rose gold again!). Yes, yet again I bought this from the trusty MISSGUIDED website - I'm turning into a MISSGUIDED-holic!!

With the top and skirt sorted, I went for some basic nude strappy heels which I had bought last year from Dorothy Perkins (Not sure whether they still have them in-store but I'm sure New Look does some similar ones which I will link below). With the outfit doing all the talking,  I went for some plain silver jewellery. I got the rings a while ago (can't remember where from but will link some similar ones). For the earrings I went for some simple rose gold flower earrings and diamond studs which were in a 8 pack set from Accessorize.

All-in-all this outfit was a winner as I received many compliments about my outfit that night! I hope that you can take some sort of inspiration from this and play around with embellished crop tops and pleated midi skirts. You can even pair the crop top with some embroidered jeans or culottes.

I hope everyone had a great year in 2016 but lets make 2017 the best one so far! Stay tuned for more OOTDs and makeup posts, they are coming your way <3
