Clueless

Hello, my lovelies!

I hope you all are having a great day so far. The weather in the UK has been amazing with temperatures reaching as high as 20 degrees (which is very rare over here). I do a lot of shopping, we all know this and with lovely weather like this, it was the perfect excuse to do a bit of online shopping for some new summer clothes. I must say,  I update my wardrobe pretty frequently, far more often than the average girl.

First came the dress. I was having a browse on the 'I saw it first' website as it's a website that I have used before, and I love how they are so on trend yet also affordable. I came accross this pink checked dresss which I instantly fell in love with. I loved the square neck detail and it just gave me Cher Horowitz (from Clueless) vibes! It was also a bodycon which I find personally suits my body shape so it was an instant winner.

As the dress did all the talking, I decided to pair it with an old denim jacket from New Look to add some edge and make it more daytime appropriate. It just added some character and tied the look together, making it look casual and trendy.

I have worn these Vans plenty of times (so I'm pretty sure you all are familiar with these) and I honestly pair it with everything that I wear. I can honestly say it is quite easily the most worn pair of shoes in my wardrobe this entire year. These shoes have transcended seasons so seamlessly, and style so easily with so many different looks. It's pretty much become a part of my body! It literally goes with everything I have. Definitely something I recommend to everyone, it's so comfy!

For accessories, I kept it quite simple with these thick silver hoops from Topshop ( can never go wrong with some simple hoops).

Hope you enjoyed this OOTD. I will be back with more outfits soon.

January Blues

Hello beautiful people!

January can sometimes leave us feeling a little run down, we get back to the real world and we get into that same schedule every day. Anyone else feel like January was a trial month? I definitely feel like it was and I want to plan more exciting content for my blog for the upcoming months. The weather isn't looking great either, those long, bleak days and summer seem forever away but I thought I would update you all on my current favourite outfit also the outfit I never take off…

I always say invest in a good coat because it'll last you a few years and this coat ticked all the boxes for me. It has to make a statement, a staple piece which usually inspires an outfit, and the rest always just falls into place. As you guys may have noticed tailored, longline jackets are in right now.  I saw this online whilst browsing through Miss Selfridge, I couldn't resist adding this steal to my basket.

It’s literally the perfect one for me, the colour, the cut, and the length. This coat also didn't have a hefty price tag either and is a  great high street alternative to the tailored designer coats I have seen online. The grey compliments the khaki knit sweater and the fit of the coat makes the whole outfit well put together but still keeps you nice and warm.

I’ve been pairing it with my New Look high-waisted black jeans (also obsessed), a cable knit jumper (this one’s from ISAWITFIRST) and any one of my black boots (yes, I own more than a few pairs – oops!), these ones being from New Look (heeled, yet comfortable). This jumper is in a cropped style and I love the roll neck which keeps you warm without compromising style.

I treated myself to a dainty PANDORA ring that I haven't taken off since I bought it. It is so elegant and dainty that I literally wear it with any and every outfit, just to add a little something!

So basically, I’ll be wearing this outfit on repeat for the rest of the season, as its such an easy throw-on outfit for them gloomy days… maybe add a good old odd bobble hat or scarf on for those extra chilly days.

So that's it for today folks! I will be back with more content.
Stay tuned,

Davina

CELEBRATING ONE YEAR OF BLOGGING

Hello, my lovelies! Happy New Year to you all!

I just want to take a moment to thank you all for your incredible support on the blog!

It's been a whole 365 days since I decided to take the leap and start my own blog (eeek!). At the time I was unsure about the feedback I would receive or if anyone would be interested in what I had to say. I wasn't worried about the numbers or how many Instagram followers I had because quantity doesn't matter and I was focussed on putting out quality content that I know people would want to read. Now looking back, I'm so happy that I put my doubts behinds and started what I was passionate about. Not only was able to live what I love but the response I've had from you lovely people has been incredible and keeps me going! I never thought in a million years that I would be able to do what I enjoy and the compliments I get from you guys drives me further to put out great content.

I know my blog is a foetus compared to other bloggers who have done this for a very long time but I hope reading my content gets you inspired to not listen to the haters and do what drives you. As well as inspiring others, the personal growth from starting a blog has changed me for a better person. Not only am I incredibly happy professionally, but also personally which is so important.
This past year has given me a new level of confidence, try new things, never give up and never worry about what people are going to say! I hope that 2018 is a successful year for all of us. If I can give advice to you right now it would be, just keep doing what you love, don't be afraid of making mistakes and don't give up!

I'm a believer in great things take time so I look forward to the new opportunities 2018 brings. Also, I love it when I get feedback from you guys so if you want me to do a  fashion lookbook over on my Youtube channel or on here then leave me a comment. Something you may not know is that I've graduated the end of last year which means that I have more time to focus on putting out great content.

A few thank-you's
When I started a blog, with no doubt I knew Pipdig was the platform with an amazing team who have patiently answered my emails when I have been frustrated, to say the least! I want to also thank my family who have supported me as well as keeping me grounded. My bunch of best friends who are my support system when I have those 'down' days and know how much their thoughts mean to me. Finally, I want to thank you guys, I started this journey a year ago to do what I love but having such lovely supporters/readers gives me another reason to continue to do what I love to do!

Thank you to everyone for joining me on this crazy journey and I can't wait for you guys to see the content I have for the new year! xx

Camo and Finding Confidence ft. Missguided

Today I have something quite different for you all while I talk about a subject which everyone has struggled with or struggling with and that is confidence. Being a beauty/fashion blogger people think that confidence comes naturally or I must be super confident in myself but I have learned to love myself. It's easy to tell someone to know their worth and be happy with who they are but it's a work in progress. Here are some tips for owning confidence which has helped me:
1. Your circle
During this festive period, family and friends are always people who can uplift and have a tight circle of friends is vital for your own confidence. Growing up, in high school, I was always insecure about what others might think of me being from a different background, however, after going to university I had a great group of friends who were always positive whenever I felt down about myself, so make sure you surround yourself with people with positive minds!
2. Uplift yourself
It sounds cheesy to say to remind yourself to give some self-love but honestly reading positive quotes or even coming across a positive quote on social media always uplifts my confidence. I post positive quotes on my Twitter and I'm thinking of posting positive messages/quotes on my Instagram story, what do you think? Not only would this help me lead a positive lifestyle but also to those reading it. Self-love is so important and reading positive quotes is one small way of having a positive outlook on yourself.
3. Remind yourself
It's easy to get lost in the world of social media and start comparing yourself to others but there's only one of you and if you waste your time thinking you were somebody else then there's a waste of who you are as an individual. It's become the norm to pick out what's wrong with you and dwell on that instead of appreciating the small things in life such having good health. I love how Missguided's new campaign features women with no photo-shopping involved where stretch-marks which were once made to make you feel ashamed is now being embraced and celebrated. I hope that other companies follow in Missguided's footsteps in celebration of what women proudly own.
4. Treat yo self
Sounds cliche but treating yourself gives you an extra boost of confidence right? Doesn't even have to be materialistic, a nice warm bubble bath after a long hard day at work ensures you're at your best and when you feel your best, confidence comes more naturally, trust me

This is one of my favourite outfits I’ve worn recently and definitely, requires some confidence to wear this... (well for me anyway!) These grey camo pants are so comfy and they were slightly baggy (if you’re thinking of getting one I would recommend going down a size if you want it more cinched in at the waist!) These edgy trousers are priced at £45.00 however the quality of these trousers are amazing.  When I first bought them I was unsure what top to pair it with being such a bold statement piece. This top is also from Missguided and is from the Carli Bybel X Missguided collection. When I saw it on the website, it immediately caught my attention and I clicked it straight into my basket. This look is perfect for a night-out especially now that its freezing and you want to cover your legs and arms but still look incredible.

Off course, I had to finish off the look with these gorgeous pairs of Nude Rounded Three Strap Barely There Heels from Missguided. I know what you're thinking, it's too cold to wear these heels but they are so comfortable to wear (for a high heel) and the straps definitely add a feminine touch to the look.

I went for a choker for accessories since the bardot top was plain I decided to add some sparkle (who doesn't love a bit of sparkle?) and it was also appropriate for this time of year. For only £8.00 this item was a steal on the Missguided website and I love how it doesn't come up too high on the neck.

I hope you guys enjoyed reading this in-depth post and thank you for staying until the end which means a lot! I hope you use the tips I've given if you struggle with self-confidence and also you can email me any problems you may be going through! x

FENTY BEAUTY: Stunna lip paint review

Hello! Hope you're having a great day so far! Today's post is the new stunna lip paint in the color uncensored (cherry red colour) brought out by Fenty beauty. Following the successful launch of Fenty beauty, Rihanna has released the new intense lip paint which are available on the Fenty Beauty website as well as Harvey Nichols.

The lip paint claims to be a weightless, 12hr liquid lipstick with a soft matte finish. I was so excited when I received this through the post. The packaging is so edgy and unique and I was surprised at how light the bottle was. The bottle itself is sophisticated and looks beautiful on my makeup table. The lid is gold which the engraved brand logo 'Fenty Beauty'.

The brush itself is very unique with a contoured wand, it gets into every crack of your lips for better control. I have not seen anything like it before. It allows super precision and it allows you to line your lips with the lipstick first and then fill it in. You definitely don't need a lipliner with this product.
The intensity of this product is incredible, I would have to give a 10/10 for pigmentation. They weren't kidding when they claimed the product to have a one-stroke intensity. You only need a bit of this product to go a long way.

I'm always on the hunt for the perfect signature red colour as its hard to find the right undertone for tanned skin, and not all reds will suit everybody.
When purchasing this product, you don't even need to doubt yourself, this shade was tested to ensure that everyone has the perfect red. I ate and drank throughout the day but this 12-hour formula ensures that your lips stay on throughout the night, this stuff does not budge.

The liquid lipstick did not ball up, feather or crack on my lips as many other liquid lipsticks do. I was really impressed with how hydrating the formula was, and it was so smooth on my lips, it felt like I had nothing on my lips.  I also did not need to top it up the whole time I was wearing it!

I'm honestly impressed by the formula, staying power and colour of this product. Rihanna has killed it yet again! This lip paint has blown all the liquid lipsticks out the water. I will definitely be purchasing more shades once they are released! It retails at £19.00 and let me just say, it's worth every penny!

Overall verdict:

Price: Good
Quality: Excellent
Packaging: Excellent
Rating: 10/10

OOTD: The Official Colour of Fall

Hi guys! Autumn is officially here which means it's time to embrace the more cool weather by stocking up on knitwear and feeling super cosy. What way to start the season than buying cute autumn clothing pieces to update my wardrobe (any excuse to shop). Boohoo has been killing the fashion game recently (as you may know from my previous posts) and I'm obsesseddd with this outfit which is an autumn staple outfit.

P.S- Don't forget to look out for my Autumn Clothing Haul which will be coming soon to my YouTube channel...

Nothing screams Autumn than this burgundy knit jumper dress from Boohoo which I have completely fallen in love with! The roll-neck jumper keeps me extra warm as well as the dress being a perfect length (not too long or short). It is perfect for the colder seasons and is super comfortable which is perfect for me to throw on but still look effortless and chic. This dress is a staple for anyone's autumn wardrobe!

These knee high boots were so dreamy and I was so happy to find them on the website. I was impressed with the high quality suede material and shows that you don't need to spend an ludicrous amount on nice boots. The lace up detail adds a feminine touch and this means that you can loosen or tighten the boots to get the perfect fit. The heel was comfortable to walk around in without feeling like I need to taken them off after five minutes (which I have experience with other boots). These knee high boots are definitely a wardrobe staple for the colder months and can only be used as a transition piece into a night look.
I hope you enjoyed reading this post as well as letting me know what staples do you guys have in your autumn wardrobe? x

Autumn Picks

Hello Guys, today I have a different kind of post. I have picked some of my favourite clothing items that I have seen whilst shopping online and put an outfit together to give you some inspiration for the Autumn months.

1. We definitely need a throw on a jacket this season and I instantly fell in love with this biker jacket I saw online at Zara for £89.99. It is long with collar detail includes silver buckles, long sleeves with trimmed cuffs, front zip pockets, and belt. It is a must have for the colder weather to keep you warm yet still on trend.

2. Rene mesh top by Brandy Melville £14 - this is a black long-sleeved mesh top that can be paired with any cami/bandeau underneath. It's all about layering in the autumn and this is something that can be dressed up or down. Was unable to get the exact picture, but here is something similar...

3.  Black washed Amelie super skinny ripped jeans from River Island retailing at £42.00, these super skinny jeans with ripped detailing and chewed hems are a perfect throw on, to give any look an edgy look! (Again similar image)

4. Ankle boots with elastic gores from H&M for £29.99. A pair of boots is a must have for the autumn/winter season! This pair is perfect! Black, heeled and pointy, what else could you want?

5. DOLLY Faux Fur Tote Bag from TOPSHOP for £39.00. I can see this bag becoming very popular in the next month or so. How cute is this bag? Perfect to pair with any look.

I hope this has inspired you to step out of your comfort zone and try new trends this Autumn!
New post coming next week ;)

    Gloomy Days...

It's May and there's no sign of the sun staying here for good (typical British weather) and I'm still dressing in black...and white to brighten my mood. This monochrome outfit definitely reflects my mood with the weather with sunny spells but mostly cold and gloomy. This is one of my favourite outfits at the moment as it looks well put together but still casual. The choker trend is everywhere and I'm obsessed with how this casual black tee is upgraded by the choker- who needs to accessorise?

I paired this with some white jeans which can be risky but I thought I'd mix up the norm instead of wearing white tee and black jeans. A leather jacket is a timeless piece to have in your closet and this one is my favourite jacket to wear for mild weather. I'll definitely be wearing this outfit repeatedly... the perfect look to wear for a casual date too!
